I work with all pregnant and birthing people, those planning a natural, cesarean or VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) delivery, whether it be in your home, birth centre or hospital. Placenta Encapsulation incl. Print & Cord Keepsake

The 'fourth trimester' can sometimes leave a woman feeling quite emotional, weepy, overwhelmed, fatigued and maybe even anxious. Placenta capsules or consuming your placenta isn't a new thing its far from a new concept. This can be a natural way to ease this hormonal let-down and support the transition into the postpartum for new mothers. The placenta has been used traditionally for thousands of years for its abundance of positive postnatal effects. A woman can lose up to 18% of her iron stores after giving birth.

  • Preventing or decreasing developing the 'baby blues' and postnatal depression.

  • Replenishing the essential hormones like oxytocin and CRH (stress reducer).

  • Replenishing essential nutrients like iron, vitamin B6, amino acids and essential fats.

  • Minimising postnatal bleeding and helping the uterus return to its normal size it was before.

  • Increasing and enriching breast milk supply.

  • Minimises stress levels; leaving mothers feeling calmer and happy for her new baby.

  • Feel more energised and less tired also.

  • Decreasing iron deficiency in mothers after giving birth.

  • It allows the mothers  body and spirit to return to vibrant health after giving birth.

Postpartum doulas are there to nurture the family and support mothers during this great time of change. They are mentors who answer your questions and provides much needed assurance in a gentle, non-judgmental way, allowing you to develop your own unique parenting style that suits you. After baby arrives transitioning into motherhood is eased by continuous support.

Hiring a night time doula is one of the ways parents can get some rest at night and be able to continue with the other commitments the next day. Sleeplessness is an inevitable part of caring for a baby and a night time doula’s main job is to spend the night to give the parent a chance to rest. The doula handles the baby’s night time feedings regardless of bottle fed or breastfeeding, soothes the baby to sleep and tends to its needs. Getting some extra sleep can go a long way in the mother’s ability to maintain a healthy and happy life.
