Shanay came a few hours after Tom was born and I didn't know what to expect since we only emailed a short while before, and after 32 hours of labor I wasn't really in the mood for strangers. And then she walked in, bringing with her a ton of good vibes, and most importantly- empathy. The truth is, I was really sorry I didn't hire her as a doula. The morning after she already had the capsules ready for me. And boy were they necessary! I felt so energized after taking them.. they gave me what I needed in order to deal with everything that was going on. I highly recommend the placenta encapsulation to every mom to be I meet, and if I had to do it all over again I would definitely hire Shanay as my doula.

Having Shanay make my placenta pills was a godsend. They gave me the energy I needed to help take care of my baby in the whirlwind first few weeks of becoming a mother. They also helped my milk supply come in strong! Iggy is now 8 months old and I still use them on the days my body is dragging itself.  The visit from Shanay to deliver the pills was also amazing. She checks in on you and her presence was so warming. The placenta print artwork and heart shaped umbilical cord is also such a beautiful touch. I feel like they directly impact my milk production. Some days I forget to take the 2nd set in the afternoon and i literally see a drop in milk. Also, they are helping with postpartum  bleeding. I’m hardly bleeding at all anymore. In short I love them.

Shanay has made my placenta after my two births and I am very grateful she did! The first birth was physically and emotionally difficult for me, and I am sure that the pills have helped me to restore afterwards. It helped to regulate my mood swings, but also with milk flow. The second time there was no question whether she would make my placenta into pills again:) But above all, for me it is just really special to have something physical left from that period where you are most connected with your baby.

For my second birth I wanted to do something with my placenta and loved the idea of having a print and then eat it to help with the recovery process. Eating it in pills was for me the easiest way and I am glad Shanay offered this service as well. After assisting me in my VBAC birth, Shanay left with my placenta and delivered the pills, print and dried cord with other surprises when I came back home.
It's been more than 3 months already and I ate half of my pills. Shanay gave very clear explanations on how to take them and store them.
I have noticed few differences in my post-partum compared to the first one. I had a very different birth experience (thanks to Shanay as well) but I would say the pills helped. I didn't have baby blues and felt more energetic. I also noticed less hair loss. My lactation is perfect and I took more pills after I had Covid, my baby had a growth spurt and due to tiredness with the disease, I felt I needed a booster for more milk and energy which seemed to happen.

Because of the placenta pills Shanay did for me I felt great after a hard delivery in the hospital, nothing close to postpartum depression even though giving birth wasn’t anything close of what i had imagine it would be.
